On Monday, November 28, STOP community group members demonstrated against Bill 23 outside of York South-Weston MPP Michael Ford’s constituency office. We rallied with other concerned residents and community groups including, Climatefast, Green Neighbours Network, Friends of Smythe Park, MDCA, Black Creek Alliance and the Green Party of Ontario. Neither Minister Ford nor his staff came out to speak to his constituents in spite of group chants of “Michael Ford, where are you?” and “Keep your promise!” STOP signs featured prominently on the CBC newscast that evening in a segment about the passing of the controversial Bill 23.
If we can’t get Minister Ford’s attention through our repeated emails and phone calls, we will continue to assert our democratic rights by demonstrating publicly until he stands up for his constituents in York South-Weston.
