METROLINX, an agency of the Government of Ontario, is planning to clear-cut an 18 hectare swath through Eglinton Flats in Toronto to build a short 1.5km elevated LRT rail line section as part of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension. This would devastate greenbelt designated parkland in York South-Weston. Concerned residents of Mount Dennis and other communities across Toronto, want the ECWE LRT extension tunnelled like the entire rest of the line. Residents in Etobicoke advocated to have the LRT line underground through their community and it now will be done. Residents of Mount Dennis in York South-Weston want and deserve the same in this community!
